Members of Yazamiyot organization, that was founded by Hilla Ovil Brenner who runs it together with Shiran Melamdovsky Somech, participated in the big 2018 startup competition run by the Chinese organization She Loves Tech. It is a female entrepreneurship competition that takes place in 14 countries around the world. The first place winner in the Israeli competition, who will participate in the international final that will take place on September 15 in Beijing, is Efrat Shenhod who presented ReSymmetry - a smart robotic wheelchair with advanced technology that allows paralyzed people and children to move like they never could before.

Meet Shiran, who at age 34 has managed to become a lawyer after graduating from Bar Ilan Law Faculty with honors, co-found a digital marketing agency, volunteer at Sal'it program and develop a computer training program for women to help them enter the high-tech and programming fields, and of course build a family with two wonderful kids.

While doing all of that, and because she was looking for the next exciting step to add more color to her work and will combine her passion for social entrepreneurship with professional advancement, she decided to join and help lead the Yazamiyot community.

Female entrepreneurship and discrimination against women in the workplace in general and particularly in the high-tech industry have been the two major issues at the center of the international women's day event held today by Yazamiyot, Start-Up Stadium and Saloona. The main speaker at the event was Adi Soffer Teeni, Facebook Israel GM, who claimed that the change should start from the women themselves, but that organizations should also be tolerant and egalitarian towards women.

It seems that if recalculating the career route, including all the required mistakes and learning, was an Olympic sport, then Hilla Ovil Brenner, a 42 year old entrepreneur from Tel Aviv, would have been a world champion. The road she travelled, paved with "all the mistakes in the book", as she calls it, puts her today at the front of the start-up world. Her name precedes her both in Israel and abroad.

Hilla Ovil Brenner has been appointed to Managing Director of the Barclays Accelerator in Israel, powered by Techstars - a unique international program for fintech and cyber start-ups. This is one of the top 5 largest accelerators in Israel, that also include the Microsoft accelerator.

Ovil Brenner, a serial entrepreneur, founded that start-up WhiteSmoke Software and the Yazamiyot organization which includes over 2,500 female entrepreneurs who have founded around 800 technological start-ups and ventures.

In the 2015 Global Startup Ecosystem Ranking, Tel Aviv placed as the 5th city with the highest percentage of businesses founded by women.
